Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has explained how he will reduce the salaries of Nigerian Lawmakers. He made the explanation in a video shared on Facebook by Wazobia Entertainment TV.
While explaining how he is going to put this into action should he became the next president of Nigeria, Obi said, his plan is to reduce cost of governance in its entirety. According to him, he will also reduce the salaries of the executive and other arm of government.
According to the LP flag bearer, he will look at the cost of governance holistically, and see how he can make that more accommodating.
While answering a question on whether he will travel out of the country over health issues, he said that the only way a leader should go out of the country over health issues is by referral.
He claimed that he does not think that he can be referred out of the country to receive medical treatments as the president of Nigeria because everything he needs is in the country. He noted that when he was Governor of Anambra State, he never traveled out of the country for medical checkup or treatment, instead, he was receiving all treatments in the state.
On the issue of zoning, he stated that zoning brings a sense of belonging, especially in a country with many different ethnic groups. He however said that it should be moderated.
He categorically said that he supports zoning, noting that every ethnic group has competent individuals who are great leaders.
