A house agent identified as Godwin Emeshina, popularly known as Mc Osinbajor, was allegedly assaulted by five clients over a rented property in Ughoton community, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to reports, Emeshina had taken the clients to inspect the house, after which they made payment for the property and his agency fee.
However, the tenants later discovered maintenance issues in the apartment and complained that the structure did not meet the standard as described by the agent.
The tenants reportedly demanded a refund, which the agent agreed to. He was said to be taking them to meet the landlord to resolve the issue and process the refund.
It was on their way to the landlord’s house that the clients allegedly attacked and beat him up.
The incident, which was documented on the Ughoton community group chat, is currently being handled by the Ughoton Community Quarter Chairman.
Residents have called for a peaceful resolution of the matter, while warning against jungle justice over tenancy disputes.
