A 13-year-old student of Federal Government College (FGC), Yahaya Nuhu Aliyu has been beaten to death by a female teacher of FGC Kwali, near Abuja.
According to Hotmedia.ng, there seems to be a cover up, but other students of the college have spoken out about the incident.
Yahaya, a JSS2 boarding student was said to have on Monday, 9th August 2021; complained of illness and went to the school clinic but was turned back because he had not eaten.
He allegedly went back to class and his teacher demanded his assignments which he did not complete – apparently because of the illness. The teacher was irked by Yahaya’s failure to do his assignment, and decided to punish him by beating him with a bucket handle.
He was slso said to have laid his head on his table after the teacher left the classroom.
When he was not moving, four students tried to lift him up but they could not. They alerted the school authority by raising the alarm.
Yahaya was allegedly rushed to the hospital where he reportedly died ten minutes after arriving the hospital.
The students were said to have protested in the premises over Yahaya’s death.
At the time of filing this, the police are yet to make statement on the incident.
