- As group blasts Okowa, Latimore
An All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain in Delta State, Olorogun Godwin Obire has said that the last sixteen years of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the state is a waste and shows that the party has nothing to offer.
Olorogun Obire, who is also the Chairman, Concerned Nigerians For Better Nigeria (CNBN), therefore urged Nigerians to reject the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, saying the party has nothing on their stable for betterment of Nigeria or any state in the country.
Speaking with journalists at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Ikeja, while responding to a publication titled “APC DISAPPOINTED NIGERIANS” by Fred Latimore – Executive Assistant, Communication to the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, where Latimore vaunted that PDP Delta will win the 2023 governorship.
Obire said the PDP lacked the vision to govern the country, and noted that the 16 years of PDP in power was a waste as they did little or nothing to improve the life of Nigerians which Fred Latimore is aware of.
‘Fred Latimore is also aware that the APC had put the country on the path of progress in the last few years, and would achieve much more in 2023’ the APC chieftain said.
“Nigerians should reject the PDP in 2023; they have nothing to offer. They were in power for 16years and they achieved nothing.
“In fact the few years of the APC administration are better than the years of PDP in power. It was 16 wasted years. PDP is a failure, they should be rejected,” he added.
Obire pointed out what he called the ineptitude of the PDP’ in the way the party privatised the power sector.
He alleged that the PDP sold power assets to cronies – all in the name of privatisation.
The APC chieftain stated that the hangover of the problem was still with the country, as the electricity distribution companies (DISCOs) foisted on the country had done little to add value to the power sector, and that Nigeria would be better with replacements.
He also stated that the Deputy Senate President (DSP) Ovie Omo-Agege has distinguished himself as a Senator representing Delta Central and in service to the country.
Olorogun Obire said; “Ovie Omo Agege’s successful bid to represent the zone again in 2019 reflected the confidence APC party men and the people had in him”.
Obire noted that Fred latimore is blind to the truth that Ovie Omo Agege had organised many empowerment programmes and executed many projects that had touched the lives of Deltans.
He listed some of the constituency projects of the DSP to include:

‘Omo-Agege’s achievements are visible. I wonder why the likes of Fred Latimore and PDP economic vampires who may have personal axe to grind with this brilliant lawyer could not acknowledge the laudable accomplishments of the DSP’, he added.
Olorogun Obire said that if Omo-Agege rises to take a shot at the governorship of the oil rich Delta State come 2023, Fred Latimore knows that victory would be one hundred per cent.
