The Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP, FCIA, has ordered the immediate and indefinite closure of the popular Ubogo Market following the persistent activities of traders who continuously display their wares on the major road, causing severe traffic gridlock in the area.

The directive came after a chaotic scenario on Saturday, 22nd November, where motorists, tricycle riders, and other road users were held in traffic jam for over three hours along the always busy Ubogo route. The traffic jam, according to eyewitnesses, was caused by traders who abandoned their designated shops and displayed their wares on the road, obstructing free flow of traffic.

The council boss, Oyibode, who was caught in the jam, synergized with, President, Union of Udu Communities (UUC), Evangelist Andrew Dokie, security personnel to clear the wares on the road – freeing the traffic jam.
