• Blames bloggers for hyping the incident
The husband whose wife tore his international passport on arrival at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in front of bewildered immigration officials and others, has claimed that his wife didn’t tear his international passport and that what was recorded was a skit.
Previously, the man made a video to accuse his wife of tearing his international passport at the airport.
To the consternation of many, he has now made a U-turn and called out bloggers for highlighting the story.
A video of the incident went viral over the weekend, showing a woman tearing her husband’s international passport at the airport after an altercation.
In the video, the wife clearly admitted to tearing the passport.
The wife later posted another video where she said she had her reasons for tearing her husband’s passport. She added that she intentionally tore it at the airport in Nigeria so he would not be able to travel back.
In response, the husband also released a video, allegeding that his wife is the problem. He then released an extended video of the altercation at the airport and added that he knew his wife would create a scene so he gave his friend his phone to film her actions.
Now, after his wife was picked up by Immigration officers and taken to Abuja for questioning, the man is singing a different tune.
He claimed the video was just a “skit”. He then tried to turn the blame on bloggers for publicising the incident.
He said: “I’m here with my kids to send an appeal to the public of Nigeria, to the whole world also, that what my wife tore, is not passport.
“Please be a blogger, when you’re blogging, blog and blog well. Don’t go and blog to spoil things, please
“She never tore my passport, she never spoilt my passport. My passport is intact.”
He added: “We’re doing a skit.”
