The General Manager, Delta Broadcasting Station (DBS) Warri, Pastor Malcolm Oteri has congratulated Nkem Nwaeke of DBS for winning the prestigious ‘Reporter of the Year’ award of the broadcasting station.

Malcolm Oteri said the merit award was to encourage diligence and professionalism in the broadcast station, stressing that Nkem Nwaeke has been an exceptional reporter and a great ambassador to DBS Warri.

“He was our Government House Correspondent at a time and later deployed to the Delta State Legislature as Assembly Correspondent, he noted.

He further stated that Nwaeke “is the Head of Asaba Operations of DBS, Warri.

“Nkem can turn in four, five reports in a bulletin. When I was the editor for Wednesday’s bulletin before my appointment as the GM, I looked forward to his reports from Asaba and environs for my bulletin.

“I know that many editors also get worried if they are yet to hear from him on their days of editing.

“He is very hardworking, proactive and unassuming.
“The award was well deserved”.

Speaking with Realtime reporter, Timothy Ejoh, the award-winning journalist, Nkem Nwaeke said:

“It can only be God and all glory returned to Him. I cherished the merit award and must thank management and entire staff of the establishment for finding me worthy for such honour. I dedicate it to God, my family, friends and colleagues. I pray for more grace as it is His grace that kept me going. Ebubechukwu is involved”.

He urged him to continue to drive towards more laurels and excellence.
