A police patrol team on stop-and-search this morning, Thursday 11 harassed a motorist identified as Kelvin Oki for driving a car with tinted glass in spite of the order by the Inspector General of Police barring its personnel from demanding tinted glass permit, customs papers and others. The order came after the police suspended issuance of tinted glass permit.

Our reporter who was at the scene of the incident, reports that when the vehicle was searched and nothing incriminating was found, the police officers insisted that the driver must “follow” them to police station.

The motorist declined following the police team to the station – leading to one of the officers seizing his phone and car key.

After the intervention of a crowd that gathered at the scene, the car key and phone was released to the motorist.

It was gathered by our reporter that harassment of motorist is a “regular trade mark” of cops on road block or stop-and-search along the Jeddo-Ughoton road.
