A generator mechanic, simply identified as Paul has reportedly died while effecting repairs on his landlord diesel power generating set in Warri, Delta State.
It was gathered that the deceased, who was in a ceremony was asked by the landlord to effect repairs on his generator.
The deceased was said to have returned from the ceremony still in his accoutrements (robe, locally called agbada) when he started fixing the generator.
On test-running the equipment, his agbada allegedly got stuck to the rotating mechanical parts – smashing him on concrete floor.
He was said to have bled profusely before help could come. He died in the hospital he was rushed to as a result of internal bleeding.
When the landlord returned, he rushed to the police station to report the incident and was subsequently arrested by the police.
The family of the deceased are requesting the landlord to explain what killed their son who left a wife, four children and an aged mother behind.
