
One hoodlum has been killed by security operatives fending off armed thieves who gained access to Dangote Refinery in Lekki Free Zone, Lagos with the intent of stealing already installed armoured cables in the facility.
This was made known by Lagos State Police Command through a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
The release stated that to obviate further attempts, security in the refinery has been fortified.

Security operatives in the early hours of yesterday Monday March 28, 2022 foiled an attempted attack on Dangote Refinery, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos.
Armed hoodlums numbering about twenty who gained access to the refinery through the lagoon side were repelled while attempting to cart away already-installed armored cables in the refinery.
The hoodlums on sighting security operatives fled the scene. One of the hoodlums was hit in the ensuing gunfire and died on the way to the hospital.
Investigation has commenced with a view to arresting the fleeing attackers.
Meanwhile, on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Abiodun Alabi fdc, minm, psc, security at the refinery has been fortified.
