Gunmen on Thursday attacked the Motor Park at Mofor Junction-Orhuwhorun in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, killing three persons and maiming several commuters.
It is not yet clear whether the gunmen were cultists or robbers.
An eyewitness however said that the gunmen were headed towards Otokutu axis of the ever-busy DSC express way when they ran into a traffic at Mofor Junction and opened fire.
Police Public Relation Officer for the Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the development, however said that two of the criminals were gunned down by policemen who responded swiftly to the attack.
He said that items recovered from the criminals’ abandoned vehicle include; one AK-47 rifle, a pump action gun and three locally made guns.
