Five more Covid-19 patients have been confirmed dead in Kano State, the state Ministry of Health confirmed in a tweet on its Twitter handle, @KNSMOH in the early hours of Thursday.
The ministry also announced that three patients recovered from the virus infection and were discharged from the state isolation centre.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had announced on Wednesday night that five Covid-19 patients died in the country, but did not mention the states that the deaths were recorded.
After Lagos State with over 1200 confirmed cases of COVID-19, Kano ranks second with 427 cases.
Meanwhile, the Association of Nurses and Midwives and the Nigeria Medical Association in the state said that 18 and 34 of their members respectively have tested positive to the dreaded virus.
