- One seriously injured
Daredevil robbers, in the wee hours of Tuesday, August 17 shot and killed two residents of Delino Hotel Street in Ugbokodo, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State. One other victim was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital, while others sustained various degrees of injury.
According to an eye witness, who resides at the compound of the incident; “At about 1:24am this morning, I heard gun shots within my neighbours’ apartments, doors were being slammed and noises of help from my neighbours’ apartments.
“Next thing I heard was a gun shot at my key, immediately my door was bashed by one of the robbers. Immediately they gained access into my apartment, myself and my wife and 2-year-old daughter tried to run for safety. That was when I was macheted by one of the robbers. I passed out immediately I was machete and had no clue to the rest of the story. I only woke up to see my daughter and my wife alive”.
The Ughoton police arrived the scene after the robbers had left, documented cordoned off the scene and later departed with the corpses.
At the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Command has not made statement on the robbery.
