Terror reigned supreme last night in Ekakpamre community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State as rival cult groups allegedly engaged each other in a deadly battle.
Though the cause of the battle was yet to be ascertained, it was gathered that lives have been lost, the police station in the town, and a van allocated to the community’s vigilante group burned down.
It was also gathered that a headless corpse has been deposited at the junction of the town.
A source said that it was “a sad event waiting to happen as Ekakpamre community has been without a President-General to pilot the affairs of the people, including security for the past three years”.
Reportedly, people are leaving the town in droves and are afraid to report to relevant authorities for fear of reprisal.
Ekakpamre community is located along Effurun-Ughelli expressway, close to Beta Glass Company.
