Renowned journalist and administrator, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, is dead.
A credible source confirmed that he died in the early hours of today, Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Aged 91 (he was born on July 1929), Jakande was the first civilian Governor of Lagos State (1979 to 1983) and was so outstanding that he was nicknamed Action Governor.
He later served as Minister of Works under the Sani Abacha military regime.
