A branch of Assemblies of God Church, located in New Layout Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has been gutted by fire.
According to a source who wants to remain anonymous; the fire started from the second floor at about 5 pm this evening and rapidly engulfed the entire structure.
Firefighters from WRPC Limited and Delta State Fire Service battled to put the fire under control – a reprieve that came a little too late as extensive damage had already been done by the fire.
The Pastor’s apartment on the second floor was completely burned down.
A worshipper at the church was seen praying and thanking God that no life was lost in the incident.
The cause of the incident was yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
