The Department of State Services (DSS) has described the viral video of stockpile of foreign currency allegedly found in the house of the suspended Central Bank governor, Godwin Emefiele , as fake.
Earlier in the week, a 27-second video devoid of audio made the rounds online, with two men arranging huge piles of money.
There were allegations that the stockpile of cash was found in the home of Godwin Emefiele by DSS, a few days after his arrest.
A report by Cable news outlet says the viral video originates from Sudan, and was posted online about April 22, 2019.
It was alleged that the money being arranged in the video amounted to $7 million, and was found in the house of Sudan’s ousted president, Omar Bashir.
The DSS in a terse response to inquires about the clip, said, the money was not discovered in Emefiele’s house.
