The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has launched a tech challenge for brilliant minds in the kingdom and environs with a cash price of N1million for winners.

The tech challenge has been referred to as ‘a golden opportunity for indigenes and residents in Warri and its environs to showcase their skills, and position themselves for global relevance, through technological innovation’.

The challenge is in line with the monarch’s vision to redefine the face of innovation and tech advancement in Warri through STEM education.

The “Tech Challenge” is open to budding talents, with a passion for tech advancements and emerging digital solutions, to find creative solutions to relevant problems in the Kingdom.

The initiative is open to people between 18 – 35 years of age.

Applicants must be residents of Warri, its environs as well as indigenes of Warri Kingdom.

Submission of models starts on Thursday, September 1, and closes on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

The facilitators said, every application will go through thorough screening and assessment process to ensure that three criteria are met:

“• Identify a problem

• Design a creative solution

• Incorporate relevant features of digital-technology into your solution.”
