The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and immediate past Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on their appointment into the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker described the appointments as a fitting recognition of the leadership qualities, experience and contributions of both leaders to the growth of Delta State and Nigeria.

Rt. Hon. Guwor said the appointments were not only a personal honour to Governor Oborevwori and Senator Okowa, but also a source of pride to Delta State, noting that their inclusion reflected national confidence in their capacity to deliver on critical assignments.

He added that both leaders had distinguished themselves in public service and had remained consistent in their commitment to unity, peace, and national development.

“I warmly congratulate our dear Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and our immediate past Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on their well-deserved appointments as members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

“This is a significant recognition of their leadership qualities, experience and contributions to governance. Their appointments are also a source of pride to all Deltans, irrespective of political affiliations,” Guwor stated.

The Speaker further noted that Governor Oborevwori had continued to provide purposeful and inclusive leadership through his MORE Agenda, while Senator Okowa deployed his wealth of experience during his eight-year tenure and had continued to contribute meaningfully to national discourse.

Rt. Hon. Guwor expressed confidence that the two leaders would bring their political maturity, experience and understanding of national issues to bear on the responsibilities assigned to them.

“I am confident that Their Excellencies will deploy their vast experience and leadership capacity to ensure the success of the assignment. Their track records speak for them, and I have no doubt that they will add immense value to the campaign council,” he said.

On behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly, the Speaker wished them wisdom, strength and success in the national assignment, and urged Deltans to continue to support the Governor and other state leaders in their efforts to attract development and promote peace.
