• Signboard with wrong spelling of “theatre” is seen at the school
A renowned educationist, Richard Chiwendu has described the trending photo taken at Kwara State University showning a spelling error on one of the signboards in the school as an augury of the nation’s ruin.
Chiwendu also said that the embarrassing signboard “epitomises how low the standard of education has fallen in Nigeria”.
He called on governments at the local, state and federal levels to rise to their responsibilities as no nation can survive in this world of advanced technology without high standard of education.
The signboard, erected in front of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology spelt “theatre” as “teather”.
The signboard reads: “Kwara State University, Malete. Faculty of Engineering and Technology, FET. Lecture Teather.”
Also reacting, Reno Omokri questioned which is depreciating faster between the Nigerian Naira and the quality of education in the country.
Students of the school have now defended their school by explaining that the spelling on the signboard has been corrected.
