Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers, this morning shot dead the chairman of a vigilante group in Jeddo community, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

The vigilante chairman, Jude Sunday, popularly known as Skosko was allegedly shot dead at his duty post by Big Shrine, close to Oil Junction around 2am when he encountered the robbers.

His body was discovered at dawn by other vigilante members and residents of the area.

As soon as the body was discovered, youths of the community took to the streets to protest the killing.

Policemen from Orerokpe Division are currently trying to pacify the youths and ease traffic that has built up as a result of the incident.
