Four days after the relaxation of the lockdown in Delta State due to the coronavirus pandemic, suspected assassins struck in Warri killing a man fondly called London.

Sources told Real-Time24 that, London who was a revenue collector and an active member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Warri South Local Government Area was shot dead by a four-man assassin at the popular Warri garage on Sunday evening; the day churches in the state re-opened for service under regulated conditions.

The assassins, who were said to have driven a red SUV, and shot several times at London who was making a call at the time.

Eyewitnesses said the assassins waited patiently to ensure that he was dead before escaping through one of the popular routes in the city.

There is no clue yet for the assassination of the London who was a middle age man, said one said to be a man of the people.

His remains eyewitnesses say were later deposited at the mortuary of the Warri Central Hospital.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the incident.
