The Delta State government has confirmed 8 more cases of the coronavirus in the state less than 24 hours after the 9th case case was announced.


The State Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu confirmed the 8 new cases in an infographics published on his Facebook Handle, which brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state to 17.


Meanwhile, there are indications that more confirmed cases of the disease may surface in the coming days, following the inauguration of COVID-19 Test Laboratory in Asaba on Wednesady.


An impeccable source disclosed to Real-Time24 that, there is palpable fear among residents of the state as more cases of the disease are likely to turn out positive from an expected test results of forty-five samples.


Delta State recorded its index case of COVID-19 on April 7, and recorded its first death from the virus on April 9, 2020.
