The Police in Delta State have arrested a female pastor for defying the state government’s lockdown order by conducting church service.
Real-Time24 gathered that the clergywoman, Pastor Beauty Michael, who is the founder of Hour for Jesus Worldwide, located along Jefia Avenue, Effurun off PTI road in Uvwie Local Government Area, was caught conducting church service last Sunday.
The local government area was on the spotlight few days, following the last two confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the state, who reside in the area.
The Police raided the church following a tipoff by the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Mr Ramson Onoyake, who alerted the Divisional Police officer (DPO) of the Ebrumede Divisional Headquarters, Mr. Idoko.
Sources told Real-Time24 that when the DPO arrived with his men, the church was in full prayer session. The congregation on sighting the Police with a news cameraman took to their heels.
The owner of Hour for Jesus Worldwide, Effurun, Pastor Beauty Michael, claimed she had a divine call to pray for Nigeria over the coronavirus pandemic.
However, not satisfied with her explanation, the DPO of Ebrumede Police Division arrested her.
