Governor Ifanyi Okowa of Delta State has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew as part of strict measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The governor in his state broadcast on Tuesday said the curfew will start Wednesday beginning from 7pm to 7am daily, adding that face masks were being produced in large quantities for distribution to the people free of charge within the one week.
Observers say the imposition of the curfew will further strengthen security agencies on enforcement of compliance to the state government’s stay-at-home directive in the additional 14 days lock down over the COVID-19.
