For allegedly flouting the stay-at- home order by the Delta State government, three clergymen were on Easter Sunday arrested by the Police in Delta State.

The clergymen were alleged to be conducting church services in Warri South and Uvwie Local Government Areas when the police swooped on them.

Report says the team of Police led by the Commander of the Warri Area Command, ACP Muktar Garba, arrested the clergymen at Saint James Anglican Church, Ojabugbe, All Saints Anglican Church, Airport Road and Christ for the World Mission in Uvwie.

It is expected that the clergymen would be charged to court for contravening the extant quarantine law.

Recall that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had in a broadcast imposed restriction on movement for two weeks starting from Wednesday, 1st April to Tuesday 14th April, 2020.

The government also warned Deltans against church services on Sundays, including Easter service.
