President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Abuja for London, the United Kingdom, for a scheduled medical check, which is expected to last two weeks or so.

President Buhari, who had planned the trip to London from Nairobi, Kenya, where he attended the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) 50th anniversary ceremony, returned home last Friday.

Nigeria Air Force 1, the presidential plane took off from the Presidential wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja,

Buhari was seen off at the airport by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari; Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu; and the Director-General of Department of State Security (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi.

Others are Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Sanusi Lemu, among other top government officials.

Femi Adesina, Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, last week hinted the routine medical in London which he said, will not exceed two weeks.
