…Military deployed

The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Victor Asasa, on Thursday, imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Igbide and Enhwe communities following renewed clashes between residents of the communities.

It was gathered that soldiers have been drafted to the area to beef up security and forestall further clashes.

The clashes have brought farming activities which is the mainstay of the economies of the communities to a screeching halt.

Hostility between the Igbide and Enhwe communities is age-long, however, a recent incident of beheading of an Igbide woman on her farm by yet-to-be identified hoodlums has reignited the hostilities.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached for confirmation as of the time of filing this report.
