Several shops were razed Tuesday, July 6 at the popular Jegbale Market in Ovwian, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
The source of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but the inferno affected mostly the shops dealing with wholesales goods.
Some of the owners of the shops affected by the fire were seen wailing uncontrollably.
It took concerted efforts of members of the public to bring the fire under control, as the state firefighters lethargically showed up when the fire had been extinguished.
