Protesters reportedly brutalized.
Military personnel have allegedly invaded the peace-loving Ugbokodo community in response to a peaceful protest by workers of ‘Own Ugbokodo Company Limited’ who were demanding their ten months salary arrears.

It was gathered the the workers of Own Ugbokodo Company Limited, providing services to Heritage Oil Limited and Seplat Petroleum Development Company were in a peaceful protest over the salary arrears when the military personnel invited by the oil companies swooped on them and brutalized some of the protesters.
It was also learnt that three of the Community Representatives were arrested by the military personnel.
Efforts to contact the Public Relations Managers of the oil companies over the issue have not been successful; but uneasy calm has enveloped the entire Ugbokodo community over the matter.
