The President and CEO of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management (GAPRCM), Prof. Justin Green, has praised Nigeria’s progress, urging citizens to take pride in the country’s achievements rather than focusing only on criticism.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily on October 2, a day after Nigeria’s Independence Day, Green said his perception of Nigeria had changed after visiting the country at least twice. He noted that perceptions of Nigeria are often shaped by misconceptions, adding that the country is making notable progress despite current hardships.
“But let me tell you from what I have seen of Nigeria, the reforms that have taken place, and it’s been an absolute honour to be here during Independence Day yesterday and to celebrate that with you,” he said.
Green described Nigeria as “blossoming in so many areas” and said the country is “actually an envy of a lot of countries around the world.”
He cited the Dangote Group’s global activities and ongoing reforms as examples of developments attracting international attention.
“The changes the president is making have been phenomenal,” Green said, adding that “Nigeria needs to be proud of what it is achieving.”
He urged Nigerians to recognise the progress being made, saying: “Stop and take a moment and just look at what Nigeria is achieving currently and stop criticising.”
“It’s easy to criticise but Nigerians need to take grasp of what they’re doing, of what’s happening and embrace it,” he added.
Green also described Nigerians as “some of the proudest people around the world.”
