The All Progressives Congress raised more than N20 billion from the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms to aspirants seeking its ticket for the 2027 general election.
The party sold presidential forms for N100 million, governorship forms for N50 million, Senate forms for N20 million, House of Representatives forms for N10 million, and State House of Assembly forms for N5 million. Female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities paid only for the expression of interest form and 50% of the nomination fee.
Sales ran from April 25 to May 6, 2026, after the party extended the deadline twice. The extension led to a surge in aspirants buying forms at both national and state levels.
By the close of sales, two presidential aspirants — President Bola Tinubu and Osifo Stanley — had purchased forms. About 90 people picked governorship forms across 28 states, while hundreds applied for the 469 National Assembly seats and 990 State House of Assembly positions.
After the May 7 deadline for submitting completed forms, the APC began screening aspirants on May 8. The exercise started with serving governors seeking re-election and those aiming for Senate seats.
Among those screened were Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, Benue Governor Hyacinth Alia, Kaduna Governor Uba Sani, Enugu Governor Peter Mbah, Cross River Governor Bassey Otu, Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris, Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Katsina Governor Dikko Radda, Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal, and Sokoto Governor Ahmad Aliyu.
For the Senate primaries, the party screened Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Gombe Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, and Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Screening for serving governors ended on May 9. Screening for new governorship aspirants began the same day and runs through May 10. Screening for Senate and House of Representatives aspirants also started May 9 and will end May 10.
The APC governorship primary is set for May 20, while the Senate primary holds on May 18, 2026. The party urged aspirants to attend screening on time with all required documents.
