The Society for Welfare of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (SWUYN) has expressed delight on the Federal Government of Nigeria launch of Youth Farmers Enrollment Portal – a groundbreaking initiative aimed at tackling unemployment and food insecurity.
The innovative platform, developed in partnership with the Nigerian Youth Economic Engagement and De-Radicalisation Programme (NIYEEDEP), has potential of transforming lives of millions of young Nigerians.
“We commend the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, for his vision and commitment to empowering young people,” said Comr. Preye Tambou, National President of SWUYN. “The initiative’s goal of creating 6 million direct jobs in 2025 across agriculture, food and beverage, and agro-allied sectors is ambitious and timely.”
The portal’s focus on providing access to agricultural training programmes, modern farming techniques, mentorship opportunities, financial support, and resources to start or expand agricultural ventures is particularly exciting. This comprehensive approach will not only equip young people with sustainable skills but also foster economic growth and national development.
“As an organization dedicated to promoting the welfare of unemployed youths, we urge all eligible young Nigerians to take advantage of this opportunity. We believe that this initiative has the potential to be a game-changer in addressing the pressing issues of youth unemployment and food insecurity in our country” the group stated.
“To enroll, interested individuals can visit the link: https://www.niyeedep.org. We look forward to collaborating with the government and other stakeholders to ensure the success of this initiative and create a brighter future for our young people” SWUYN added.
