Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor has urged Deltans to remain hopeful in the face of current economic realities ahead of Christmas.
Rt Hon Guwor gave the admonition in Asaba at the festival of nine lessons and carols organized by Delta State House of Assembly Chapel.
The Speaker in his goodwill message, urged Deltans to express love and joy in the season of celebration.
Rt. Hon. Guwor stressed the need for everyone to keep hope alive amidst the economic situation in the country, saying that Christmas season is that of hope and love.
He also spoke with journalists and highlighted the gains of Governor Oborevwori’s administration, assuring that the Governor will remains focused in improving the socioeconomic well being of Deltans.
He called on everyone to continue to support the current government as there is hope for the future.
Guwor, while appreciating the leadership of fellowship and the invited guests, announced plans for the renovation of the administrative building of the State House of Assembly Complex.
Earlier, the Speaker took the 1st lesson of the festival of nine lessons and carols from the book of Matthew chapter, 1:18-25.
Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Festus Okoh, Deputy Chief whip, Hon. Alfred Martins, Majority Whip, Bernard Odior, Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon Pat Ajudua, Chairman, House of Assembly Service Commission, Mr Sunday Ebireri, Clerk of the house, Mr Otto Aghoghophia and Rev. Fr. Benjamin Okafor all took part in reading lessons for the day.
One of the high-points of the ceremony was the cutting of the festival cake, thanksgiving by the Assembly Service Commission led by its Chairman, Mr Sunday Ebireri and special choir ministration.
