Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has condoled with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian Army over the demise of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.

General Lagbaja died at the age of 56.

The Speaker at Wednesday’s plenary of the State Assembly, conveyed his condolences to the Lagbaja family at the sad event.

He prayed to God to grant the soul of the late General eternal rest and the family; the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Also at the plenary, the Speaker commiserated with the Delta State Government on the passing of Ex-Deputy Governor, Prof. Patrick Utuama (SAN).

He prayed to God for repose of the soul of the former Deputy Governor, and to grant the family of the deceased the strength of mind to bear the loss.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Assembly at plenary on Wednesday, slammed two weeks suspension on the member representing Ukwuani State Constituency, Hon Chukwudi Dafe over alleged misconduct.

The motion for the suspension of the lawmaker for fourteen legislative days was moved by the Majority Leader, Hon Emeka Nwaobi, representing Aniocha North and seconded by the Chief Whip, Hon Perkins Umukoro, representing Sapele constituency and adopted.

The Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor announced that a Committee will be set up to investigate the issues that led to the suspension.
