Nigerians, especially regular air travellers are panicking over Air Peace announcement of 100% fare increase on local routes with effect from October 25.

Currently, passengers flying from Lagos to Abuja pay an average of N143,000.

With the increase, the fare is expected to surge to N286,000.

The substantial fare increase has sparked mixed reactions among travelers and industry analysts.

The price hike comes amidst economic challenges and operational cost increases within Nigeria’s aviation sector, which have pressured airlines to review their pricing models. While the adjustment aims to keep Air Peace financially sustainable, it also places additional strain on Nigerian travelers who rely on affordable domestic flights.
