President Bola Tinubu has sacked five Ministers in a major restructuring aimed at improving government operations.
The President also nominated seven new Ministers to his cabinet.
The seven newly nominated Ministers are: Nentawe Yilwatda (Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi (Minister of Labour & Employment); Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu (Minister of State Foreign Affairs; Jumoke Oduwole (Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment (Trade and Investment); Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Ministry of Livestock Development), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development) and Suwaiba Said Ahmad (Minister of State Education).
The sack and nomination were disclosed in a statement shared via the X handle of the presidency after the federal executive council meeting on Wednesday, October 23.
According to the statement, the following ministers were relieved of their duties: Tahir Mamman, (minister of education), Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, (minister of women affairs), Jamila Bio Ibrahim (minister of youth development) Lola Ade-John (minister of tourism) Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, (minister of state, housing and urban development).
