A girl used to work in a meat factory. Her job was to cut meat to the right size.
One day, shortly before the day’s work was over, she entered the meat storage room which is very cold. Suddenly the door closed and locked from outside. She tried hard but could not open the door. There was no use shouting much because all the other workers had left.
Slowly, she started freezing in the cold storage room. Death was imminent. She was crying but there was no chance for her survival. Suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, a security guard came and opened the door and freed her. Then the girl asked him, You shouldn’t have been here. Why did you come?
The guard replied; I have been working here as a security guard for almost 35 years, but I have seen very few people who had the courtesy to say ‘good morning’ as they register for work and ‘good evening’ as they close and leave the factory.
Most of the people behaved as if they did not see me. But you were the only person who would greet me with a sweet smile every day. You did it this morning too.
But this evening, I did not hear the words ‘Good Evening’ from your mouth, which means you have not come out yet. And so I started looking for you.
*Life is very short. So everyone should be nice to each other.*
