An old man entered the court to lay a complaint about his son. The judge asked, what is your complaint against your son.
The father said, I want to ask my son for monthly allowance according to his status.
The judge said, that is your right, what is the need for hearing on this? Your son should give you the money every month! The father said ; actually, I have no shortage of money, but I still want the money from my son every month, even if it is a small amount. The judge was surprised and said to the father, you are so rich, then why do you need money from your son?
However, the father gave his son’s name and address to the judge and said, if you call my son to the court, you will know a lot of things. When the son came to the court, the judge told him that your father wants to take monthly allowance from you, even if it is a small amount. The son was also surprised to hear the judge’s words. The son answered, my father is very rich, why does he need money from me?
The judge said, that’s your father’s demand.
The father interjected; Judge sir, order my son to give me 100 rupees in person every month, that’s with his own hands and there will be no delay in giving me the money.
The judge ordered the old man’s son, to give his father Rs. 100 every month with his own hand without any delay and closed the complaint.
After the court session, the judge called the old man and asked, if you don’t mind, may I ask you one thing? Why did you file this case against your son, you are a very rich man and this is such a small amount you’re requesting?
The old man cried and said, Judge Sir, I was longing to see my son’s face. He is so busy with his work that a long time has passed since I set my eyes on him. I have not met him, and neither have I talked to him face to face nor on the phone over the long period! I love my son very much. That is why I filed this case against him, so that every month I will be happy to meet and see him. Hearing this, the judge became emotional and tears rolled down his face as well as that of the old man.
The judge told the old man, if you had told me earlier, I would have punished him for ignoring and not taking care of you.
The old father looked at the judge with a smile and said, “If you had punished him, it would have been a matter of sorrow for me, because I really love him very much, and I would never want my son to be punished or suffer because of me.”
