Petroleum Marketers have been accused of price gouging in Warri, environs and the whole of Delta State.
A motorist, Israel Udeme, who returned from Abuja last night (Wednesday), has expressed surprise that petrol is being dispensed between N1,300 and N1,400 in Warri and environs; while the product is being sold between N920 and N950 in Abuja.
He said, he couldn’t wrap his head around the fact as the product is being trucked all the way from either Warri or Lagos to Abuja, in which case the prices would have been the other way round. He accused marketers of price gouging.
A further investigation by our reporter shows that the highest price for petrol in Asaba is N1,150.
Udeme called on the relevant authorities to investigate the anomaly to help the masses get fair pricing of petroleum products in the area.
