Police in Kano have arrested some foreigners suspected of being behind protests with Russian flags in some states in the Northern part of the country.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Garba disclosed this after a security meeting with Governor Abba Yusuf on Tuesday.

Garba also vowed that the police and other security agencies will clamp down on anyone trying to threaten the security of the state.

The Kano police boss also announced further relaxation of the curfew from 6 am to 6 pm.

The ongoing #Endbadgovernance nationwide protests against hardship and hunger took a dangerous dimension on Monday, with protesters in some Northern states waving the Russian flag as they chanted “Tinubu must go”.

Human rights activists, including a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, have reacted to the development.

Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Mustapha, on his part, described the act as a treasonable offence.
