Lionel Messi received a very disturbing threat on Thursday.
According to authorities in Argentina, gunmen left a threat for Messi after they attacked a grocery store that’s owned by his wife’s family. Fourteen total shots were fired in the store but nobody was killed or injured.

The message read: “Messi, we are waiting for you. Javkin is a drug dealer. He is not going to look after you.”
An investigation into this incident is already underway.

This has sports fans worried about one of the greatest soccer players to ever do it.
“I seriously hate people that do this. Messi is one of the nicest and most humble footballers and people want to go out and do something like this. Pathetic,” one tweet read.

Messi is fresh off winning his first World Cup championship after Argentina took down France in the final.
Hopefully, this doesn’t happen again.
