Kenneth Okonkwo, Nollywood actor and chieftain of Labour Party, has extolled the achievements of the Buhari administration in the South East, stating that when compared with the PDP which ruled the country for 16 unbroken years, APC’s government is more beneficial to the Igbos.
Okonkwo made the assertion in an interview with BBC.

He however said that he believes that his current party, the Labour Party is miles ahead of the other two parties.
He said, “the PDP didn’t do any tangible thing for the Igbo people when compared to the APC under the leadership of president Buhari.”
“The tenure of Buhari is beneficial to the Igbos compared to the whole tenures of the PDP in Nigeria. The PDP was the party that kept promising the Igbo people about building the second Niger bridge because they wanted the votes of the Igbos. The kept voting for the PDP because of the promise to build the Niger bridge.
“But it was the Buhari administration (APC) that finally built the bridge, it was also Buhari that turned the local airport in Enugu State into an international airport and likewise built longer runway in the airport. Buhari’s tenure had benefitted the Igbos compared to the whole rulership of the PDP since many years” he said.
He said it was the PDP that pledged to produce it’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections from the South East, only to renege by producing a Northerner, Atiku.
“In comparison to the time that Buhari served as president under the APC, the PDP had treated the Igbos worse”, he said.
