Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has said he is working to stop illegal oil bunkering in the Niger Delta area.

Tompolo was recently awarded a N4 billion per month contract by the Federal government to secure oil pipelines.

Speaking after an event with traditional rulers in the Niger Delta, Tompolo said there is the need to protect the environment in the Niger Delta and in the country. He said he’s ready to work with communities in the Niger Delta area “to do the right thing”.

“We are going to move into serious action, where we are going to stop the illegal activities in the Niger Delta region.… we don’t have any place to call our home except Nigeria.

“We need to do everything within our powers to protect our environment, protect our country and our nation.

“My plan for Niger Delta, for peace to reign, is to carry everybody along. People try to do illegal bunkering – people are doing that to survive because there is no other means to survive.

“We are working with everybody to do the right thing”, he said.

  1. In every business, someone must be in charge. So is the award of the surveillance contract to Government Ekpemupolo also known as Tompolo. He’s a man with wisdom and capability and ready to cohesively bring all the militants under a peaceful environment to find a long lasting solutions to the crude oil thefts pervading the Niger Delta, that has caused water pollutions. Therefore, all the communities are beneficial to the contract, so, there’s need for peace, unity, inclusiveness etc in the business. I hereby congratulate and appreciate the Federal government’s efforts in curbing the menace.
