Six passengers were confirmed dead, while six others sustained varying degrees of injuries in a lone auto accident along Kwale/Ogwashi-Uku highway, by Obasanjo Farms, Ewulu community in Delta State.
The accident involved a Toyota bus with registration number: AKD 596 GE, which had a tyre blowout, and made the vehicle to summersault several times.
Four passengers reportedly died on the spot, two in the hospital; while the others injured in the crash are receiving treatment at Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.
It was gathered that 18 passengers were on board the vehicle which was en route to Warri from Anambra State where they had attended a burial ceremony.
The Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps in the zone, Ibrahim Abubakar, confirmed the incident and cautioned against over speeding.
He also advised motorist to carryout safety checks on their vehicles before embarking on journeys.
