Two factions have emerged in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) following the suspension of the party National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, by a Port Harcourt High Court.

The High Court had on Monday, August 23, restrained Secondus from parading himself as PDP chairman.

Consequently, the Deputy National Chairman of PDP (South), Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, laid claim to the leadership of the party.

In the same vein, the Deputy National Chairman of the party (North), Senator Suleiman Nazif, has said that he is the leader of the party.

The Nazif led faction of the party has fixed Friday August 27, for the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
