Four days ago, Iniubong from Akwa-Ibom State posted on Twitter that she’s in need of a job.

Among those who responded to her post was a guy who offered her a job and requested that she brings her CV to a particular location in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Three days ago, Iniubong’s friend, who was informed about the job hunt came on twitter to seek help to locate her friend after their last conversation suggested that she was in distress. She had called her phone number for further information, but it was switched off.

Through his name, the search for the guy that invited her for an interview began and eventually, people were able to find the social media profiles of the guy, together with his phone number and pictures. People began to inaundate him with messages and calls across his social media platforms.

The guy suspecting he was in trouble started changing his Facebook and Twitter names and profile and eventually deleted his accounts. At that time, many other victims of the guy came online to narrate their ordeal with him, tagging him a scammer.

After feeling the heat, the guy came online to deny knowing her whereabouts.

The Police began their investigations and arrested the him and one other person yesterday.

Sadly, the lady’s friend has confirmed today that Iniubong has been killed and buried.

Commenting on the incident, a security expert, Richard Udoh advised job seekers, itinerant sales persons and other marketers to be careful in doing their businesses, especially when meeting strangers for the first time.
He told them to always inform at least one person about their movements at every point in time. “Always be security conscious and prepare for self-defence, if possible”, he added.
