A scuffle between a policeman and a bus driver at Eku, along Abraka road in Delta State has left the driver seriously injured with nationwide condemnation of the resurgence of police brutality – just a few weeks after #ENDSARS protests.
A video of the incident which has gone viral shows the bus driver bleeding profusely as a result of the scuffle.
From the video, one of the policemen at the checkpoint could be heard appealing for calm while another was sitting in the bus, perhaps to enforce his will.
From a photo of the scene, the name of the policeman; Paul Audu could be discerned.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident.
She said the erring policeman has been arrested and that he is under trial by the force.
The Police image maker also revealed that the injured bus driver is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
