A 17-year-old girl has been killed in Owa-Alero community, Ika North East council of Delta State, where Govenor Ifeanyi Okowa hails from.
The girl who was said to be a virgin and speech-impaired, went out on Saturday night to buy some items, but did not return home.
The Nation reports that the teen was stabbed on the upper part of her ribs and a pipe inserted into her body through which her blood was drained.
Her body was discovered on a heap of sand a few metres from her house with a bottle of soft drink and a packet of snacks (chin-chin) close to her.
Police spokeswoman, Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the incident, adding that investigation into the murder had started.
