Tragedy struck in Delta State on Wednesday as explosion from a tanker conveying petroleum product around Koko junction section of the busy Benin/Sapele Expressway reportedly claimed the lives of about 20 persons.
Sources say victims of the sad incident which happened around 11am were burnt beyond recognition and about 10 vehicles were also consumed by the inferno.
The Benin/Sapele Expressway has been in deplorable condition for more than three years leading to several loss of lives and man-hours on the route.
